Finks Cotton Gabardine
A rare extra-long staple cotton with refined luster and depth
At VU, we value the inherent quality of materials,
balancing refined texture with long-term usability.
This fabric is made using Finks cotton,
a rare Egyptian extra-long staple cotton,
accounting for less than 0.3% of global cotton production.
Grown along the Nile River,
its fibers are long, fine, and uniform,
creating a natural silk-like luster,
softness, and depth.
By twisting three fine yarns together,
a high-density gabardine with a clear twill structure is formed.
Nidom finishing softens the fabric,
giving it a smooth and supple touch.
This process is rare and limited in Japan.
The long fibers provide strength and flexibility,
maintaining shape through wear and washing.
The fabric gradually adapts to the body over time.
VU focuses on preserving the integrity of the material,
avoiding unnecessary decoration,
and emphasizing silhouette and comfort.
Structured yet easy to wear,
this fabric is used across seasons,
from trousers and jackets to coats and shorts.
A material that evolves with time,
embodying VU’s philosophy of longevity.
